Warm oil. Candlelight. Nowhere to be.
The first long stroke down your back, and your breath finally slows.
Nothing is expected of you — only to feel.

Your Comfort Map shapes pressure, pace, focus, boundaries and atmosphere.
Sometimes it's pleasure. Sometimes it's something you've carried for years.
Some people book because they want an unhurried, deeply sensual experience of their own body. Others come because something has gone quiet, tense or painful around sex — and talking about it hasn't been enough. Both are welcome here.
Desire that's gone quiet
Low libido from stress, medication, age, a long relationship — or no obvious reason at all.
Shame around sex or the body
The sense that your body, your desires or your history are something to hide, even from yourself.
Performance and erection anxiety
Pressure that arrives before intimacy does, and gets in the way of feeling anything at all.
Reconnecting after a hard chapter
A breakup, a diagnosis, recovery from chemsex, or years of not being touched with care.
Intimacy and closeness
Wanting touch and connection that isn't rushed, transactional or performed.
Pleasure and curiosity
No problem to solve — simply a slower, deeper, more embodied experience of your own body.
Just here for the experience? Good.
You don't need a reason to book, and you won't be asked for one. A bodywork session is a bodywork session — nobody is going to analyse you. If you'd rather not talk at all, the Comfort Map lets you choose quiet, minimal talking, and that's exactly what you'll get.
Here for something deeper? Also good.
Some of this is worked through hands-on, in Tantra-informed bodywork; some through conversation, in Sexual Wellbeing Coaching — often both. Coaching is a separate door, never a condition. You don't need to know which you want before you get in touch.
A calmer path from curiosity to session.
01 · Create your Comfort Map
Choose intention, pressure, touch style, focus areas, no-go areas and sensory preferences before the session.
02 · Confirm boundaries together
Your map starts the conversation. Nothing is assumed, and anything can change as you go.
03 · Arrive and experience
The session is shaped around you rather than a fixed routine, with time to arrive, settle, experience and return without being rushed.
Designed to be felt,
not simply received.
A private, Tantra-inspired sensual bodywork experience created around touch, presence, breath, energy and embodied awareness.

Touch can be more than physical.
A journey, not a routine.
It brings together touch, breath, rhythm, warmth, sound, light, stillness and embodied awareness. The session responds to your preferences rather than following a fixed sequence.
Sensuality is treated as awareness of the body — warmth, touch, breath, movement, closeness and sensation — within a professional, respectful setting.
Surprise in sensation.
Never surprise in consent.
Your boundaries are never guessed. You can pause, change direction or stop at any time.
No reason needed. No analysis.
Wanting an unhurried, deeply sensual experience is reason enough. A bodywork session is not a coaching session in disguise — nobody is going to ask about your feelings unless you bring them. Prefer silence? Choose quiet, minimal talking in your Comfort Map.
The journey
01 · Arrive
Settle, review preferences and leave the outside world behind.
02 · Ground
Slow breath, warmth and steady touch begin the transition.
03 · Flow
Rhythm, movement and sensory elements become more immersive.
04 · Awaken
If chosen, the experience can become more sensual and embodied.
05 · Integrate
The pace slows so your body has time to settle.
06 · Return
Space to transition back into your day without being rushed.
From body.
To mind.
To sexuality.
To self.
For many years, my work and studies have revolved around one central question: how can we feel more at home in our bodies, our sexuality and ourselves?
A background in psychology shapes how I hold space, read consent and support nervous-system safety throughout tantric, sensual bodywork — training that sits alongside, not apart from, the hands-on practice.
Pink Therapy — Advanced Accredited Therapist
Association of Somatic & Integrative Sexologists
Body, mind and experience.
My academic background includes an MSc in Health Psychology and training in Physiotherapy, complemented by long-standing practice in massage and bodywork, mindfulness, breathwork, movement and Tantra-informed practice.
I am also a teacher of massage and bodywork, and currently CEO of a massage school, where I share practical, embodied and consent-aware approaches to touch.
Over more than 25 years, I have explored the body through more than 20 forms of massage, bodywork and somatic practice — from Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, deep-tissue work, relaxing massage, myofascial release, aromatherapy, Swedish massage, Ayurvedic massage, craniosacral approaches and physiotherapy-informed techniques, to Thai Yoga massage, Japanese massage, Zen Shiatsu, reflexology, energy work and sound-based practices.
My wider journey has also been shaped by training and guidance from teachers and practitioners across Thailand, Japan, India, New Zealand and Hawaii, alongside influences from South American shamanic traditions.
My approach has been shaped by years of study in Tantra, personal practice and direct learning, including personal lessons and trainings with Dr Janine Santon, whose work has informed my understanding of the mind-body connection, as well as teachings and inspiration from Barbara Carrellas, Janine at Wilde Ziel in Amsterdam, Sian Johnson, Christopher “Hareesh” Wallis of Tantra Illuminated, and my mentor, Mantak Chia.
Selected education and training
This is a selected overview of trainings, certifications and personal study. It represents only part of a much wider body of professional development.
European Institute for Higher Education in Integral, Somatic & Transpersonal Sexology
Tantric Science and Advanced Erotology
The Institute works from a simple premise: full, embodied sexuality and genuine pleasure belong to everyone, not just the fortunate few. Its work runs along three lines — helping people grow into their fullest sexual embodiment, raising the profile of somatic sexology as a serious field of practice, and setting the professional standards that practitioners in the field are trained and measured against.
Rasayana Tantra Academy
The Love Academy
This has given me a way of working that is not based on one technique or one philosophy. I am interested in the person as a whole — the body, nervous system, emotions, sexuality, identity, relationships and the way we experience ourselves through touch and connection.
Sexual wellbeing coaching
Today, my work has evolved beyond massage alone. Alongside The Alex Experience, I offer Sexual Wellbeing Coaching for men, with a particular focus on gay, bisexual and queer men who want to feel more confident, connected and at ease in their sexuality.
I work with themes such as sexual confidence, erection confidence, performance anxiety, changes in desire or libido, pornography habits, body image, shame, intimacy, communication, pleasure, relationships and self-exploration.
For some men, the goal is to feel more relaxed and confident around sex. For others, it may involve reconnecting with desire, understanding arousal, reducing pressure around erections, developing healthier sexual habits, improving communication with a partner, rebuilding confidence after difficult experiences, or creating a more authentic relationship with their own sexuality.
Confidential, affirming and consent-led.
My approach is confidential, non-judgemental, LGBTQ+ affirming and consent-led. I bring together psychology-informed coaching, embodied awareness, mindfulness, breathwork, somatic practice and Tantra-inspired approaches.
Rather than telling someone what their sexuality should look like, I create a space in which they can explore it with greater awareness, confidence and choice. There is no expectation to perform, prove anything or fit into a particular identity.
Nothing needs to be forced. Nothing needs to be performed.
My work is designed to feel personal, discreet and deeply individual. Whether we are working through conversation, coaching, embodied awareness or bodywork, the focus is always on helping you feel more connected to yourself.
The Alex Experience
Where appropriate, coaching can sit alongside The Alex Experience, my private, consent-led, multisensory bodywork practice. Coaching and bodywork remain clearly defined services, with boundaries and expectations agreed in advance.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple idea: the body is not something to overcome — it is something to come home to.
My aim is to help men feel more at home in their bodies, more confident in their sexuality, more connected to their pleasure, and more able to create the intimate life they genuinely want.

When the body and the story
need to be worked with together.
Confidential, psychology-informed coaching for men who want to feel more confident, connected and at ease in their sexuality — on its own, or alongside Tantra-informed bodywork.
The things people rarely say out loud.
Desire and libido
Wanting sex less than you used to — or less than you think you should — and not knowing why.
Erection and performance pressure
Anxiety that arrives before intimacy and makes it hard to stay present, especially with someone new.
Shame and body image
Old messages about your body, your desires or being gay, bi or queer that still shape how you feel during sex.
Porn, habits and numbness
Patterns that have crowded out real-life pleasure, and a wish to feel more again.
Intimacy and communication
Finding it hard to ask for what you want, set limits, or let closeness in — with partners or dates.
After a difficult chapter
Rebuilding confidence after a breakup, a diagnosis, chemsex, or experiences that left touch feeling unsafe.
Your body does not need to be fixed.
Conversation first. The body when it helps.
Coaching sessions are 60 minutes, in person in London or online. The first session is an unhurried conversation: what's going on, what you'd like to be different, and what has and hasn't helped before. There's nothing to prepare and nothing to perform.
From there we work with a mix of psychology-informed coaching, embodied awareness, breath and simple practices to take home — trauma-informed and always at your pace. Some people come for two or three sessions around one specific thing; others work over a longer arc. We agree that together, and review it as we go.
Where bodywork would genuinely help — for example, learning to stay present in the body rather than in your head — a Tantra-informed session can sit alongside coaching. That is always a separate, explicit choice, never an assumption.
Coaching or bodywork?
Not sure? Start with a conversation — it's the easiest place to begin, and nothing is decided in advance.
What coaching is not
Coaching is not psychotherapy, medical treatment or a substitute for either. If something you bring would be better served by your GP, a sexual health clinic or a therapist, I'll say so plainly and help you find the right door. Nothing intimate is ever part of a coaching session.
Practical details
Your body.
Your boundaries.
Your experience.
A calm pre-session guide to intention, pressure, touch style, focus areas, no-go areas, sensory preferences and conversation.
The Comfort Map is a simple way to tell me what feels good, what does not feel right and what helps you relax before we meet. If you do not know what to choose, do not worry — we can talk through it together during the session. What matters most is that you feel safe with me.
Eight dimensions
Consent is dynamic.
Informed by the Wheel of Consent and a trauma-informed approach: your selections guide the session, but never lock you in. You can change your mind, pause or stop at any time.
For people who value privacy,
time and detail.
A higher-touch version of The Alex Experience with a slower arrival, greater personalisation and a more spacious private journey.
Designed for discerning private clients, including people from business, fashion and public life, as well as anyone who values the highest level of quality, discretion and personal care.

Lomi Lomi Nui, a private VR immersion, and your preference.
Three elements, one unhurried journey. The only session where the room itself changes around you.
Private VR opening
A short guided immersion in a VR headset — ocean, breath and sound — to leave the day behind before the first touch. Used while you're resting on your back; removed before the bodywork deepens. Fresh, sealed face covers every time.
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Nui, Tantra-informed
Long, flowing, wave-like strokes using forearms and hands, rhythmic and continuous, so the body stops tracking where one movement ends and the next begins. Grounding, sensual, deeply releasing — shaped by your Comfort Map throughout.
One element chosen by you
Warm stones, sound bowl, breath guidance, aromatherapy, a longer integration, or something discussed in advance — one addition, agreed before we begin, so the session ends exactly the way you want it to.
Every element is optional — the VR immersion can be shortened or skipped entirely if you'd rather stay fully in the room. Consent remains specific, reversible and ongoing, exactly as in every other session. £300, confirmed with you directly before anything is paid.
Unhurried arrival
Extra orientation time before bodywork begins.
Adaptive atmosphere
Sound, warmth, light and pacing adjusted around your preferences.

Repeat clients can opt into preference memory.

20+ approaches
Massage, movement, breath and contemplative traditions.
International influences
Thailand, Zen, Tao and Tantra.
Clear before you arrive.
Who is it for?
Designed especially with gay, bi and queer men in mind, while welcoming adults who connect with the approach.
Do I need Tantra experience?
No. First-time clients can choose a slower orientation.
Is intimate touch automatic?
No. Nothing intimate is assumed or required. Where touch to intimate areas is part of a session, it only ever happens with your explicit, ongoing consent, as part of specific Tantra massage techniques — it is never provided to induce arousal. Arousal can occur as a natural side effect of the practice, but it is not the purpose of the session. Scope is discussed explicitly throughout.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Preferences and consent can change at any point.
Where do sessions take place?
In top private studios across London, or at your home on request. The exact address is shared privately once your booking is confirmed.
What do I wear, and how much do I undress?
Come in whatever is comfortable. You undress only as far as you choose, and you are covered with towels or a sarong throughout. Your Comfort Map records what feels right for you.
Should I shower beforehand?
Please arrive freshly showered. If you are coming straight from work or the gym, just mention it and we will make time for you to freshen up.
What if emotions come up?
That is common and welcome. We can slow down, pause or simply be quiet together. Nothing needs to be explained or fixed.
What happens after the session?
There is time to rest, rehydrate and return to your day slowly. You are welcome to talk about how it felt, or to leave in silence.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer or in cash on the day. A small deposit by bank transfer may be requested to hold your date. Card details are never entered on this website.
What if I need to cancel?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged in full.
Can we talk before I book?
Yes. A free 15-minute phone or video call is the easiest way to ask questions and see if this is right for you. Request one from the Contact page.
Can I come with my partner?
Yes. A 90-minute couples session is £280, shaped around both of your Comfort Maps.
What does "consent-led" mean here?
The work is trauma-informed and draws on the Wheel of Consent: clarity about who each touch is for, choices checked throughout, and a no that is always respected without explanation.
Is this a sexual service?
No. This is professional, consent-led bodywork. It is not an escort service, and no sexual services are provided or exchanged.
Discretion is part of the experience.
Privacy, boundaries and payment security are part of the client journey from first contact to aftercare.
Consent changes the experience.
New client screening
Every enquiry is reviewed personally — a short private conversation, age verification and a fit check — before any session is confirmed. By appointment only.
Ongoing consent
Specific, reversible and checked throughout. Nothing intimate is assumed.
Minimal data
I only ask for what's needed to book and shape your session — nothing more, and nothing kept longer than it needs to be.
Secure payments
Card details are never entered on this website. Payment is by bank transfer or in cash on the day, once your session is confirmed.
Trauma-informed, and guided by the Wheel of Consent.
Sessions draw on Betty Martin's Wheel of Consent: we are clear about who each touch is for, whether you are receiving or directing it, and that every yes can become a no at any moment.
The work is also trauma-informed. Pace, choice and your sense of safety come first, nothing is pushed through, and you never need to explain why something doesn't feel right.

Terms & Conditions.
The practical terms behind every session — eligibility, pricing, cancellations and consent.
Last updated: [date these terms go live]
About these terms
These terms apply whenever you enquire about, book or attend a session with The Alex Experience, operated by Alex van River ([legal/trading name and, if applicable, company number]). By booking a session, you agree to them.
Who this service is for
Sessions are for adults aged 18 and over only. We may ask for age confirmation before a session is confirmed.
The service
The Alex Experience offers private, consent-led, Tantra-informed sensual bodywork, alongside separate Sexual Wellbeing Coaching. It is not an escort service. Nothing intimate is assumed or automatic — the scope of each session is discussed and agreed with you in advance, and can change at any point during the session itself.
Where touch to intimate areas forms part of a session, it takes place only with your explicit, ongoing consent and as part of specific Tantra massage techniques. This touch is not intended or provided to induce arousal; arousal, where it occurs, is a natural physiological response and a possible side effect of the practice, not its purpose. The Alex Experience does not provide, arrange or facilitate sexual services of any kind, and no session is exchanged for sexual acts.
Booking and the Comfort Map
A booking request through this site is a request only — nothing is confirmed until you receive a reply about suitability and availability. Before your session, you'll be asked to complete the Comfort Map, a short guide to your preferences. It shapes the session but is never binding — you can change any answer, including in person, at any time.
Pricing and payment
Pricing is personalised and typically ranges from £100 to £350, depending on session length and your needs, and is confirmed with you directly before payment. Payment is arranged privately once your session is confirmed, by bank transfer or in cash on the day. A deposit by bank transfer may be requested to hold your date, and is deducted from the session price. We never collect or store card details.
Cancellations and rescheduling
We ask for at least [24 hours' notice — confirm the exact policy you want] to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged in full, at our discretion, to respect the time held for you.
Consent and conduct
Consent is specific, informed, reversible and checked throughout every session. You can pause, change direction or stop at any time, for any reason, without needing to explain yourself. Any disrespect of these boundaries, by either party, ends the session immediately.
Health and safety
Please tell us about any health conditions, allergies, injuries or medication that could affect your session before it begins. We reserve the right to decline or adapt a session where there is a genuine health or safety concern.
Confidentiality
What you share with us — in conversation, in the Comfort Map or during a session — is kept private and confidential, in line with our Privacy Policy.
Liability
We provide this service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here is always the current one. Continuing to use this service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
